The basic rule is this: if the PS4 Pro cannot do it, the PS5 in backwards compatibility mode for PS4 games can't do it. Understand that PS5's BC mode is based on replicating the PS4 Pro as perfectly as possible to ensure minimal compatibility issues. All of that seems to me like pointless extra work when they are obviously working on doing all this and more for Tekken 8. So if Bamco did do that, they may as well add 4K textures along with native 4K resolution, and the option for 120fps gameplay.

None of these things can happen with the current PS4 version of the game with a patch because Sony made the PS5 so that accessing the PS5 perks I described is impossible without a separate PS5 re-release of a PS4 game. This is the only way they can add stuff like controller haptic feedback, Tempest 3D audio, adaptive triggers, and near instant SSD load times. The second option is for Bamco to release a completely new version of Tekken 7 made for the PS5 (instead of through PS4 BC mode). This would be the only significant improvement using PS4 BC mode on the PS5 since the game is already 60 fps, and it isn't that much (at least for Playstation gamers). On the PS4 console, that wouldn't be much of an improvement, but on the PS5 through its PS4 backwards-compatibility mode, it would stay locked at 4K upscaled. The first is to patch the PS4 game so that it has the option of a variable, dynamic resolution setting that can hit a max 4K upscaled.
