The firewall sometimes will block connections when the computer reboots, loses power, or does an update. There can be issues due to the firewall of the target computer. Something like “abc\jonny” or “\jonny” or spelled out like \jonny” Some secure systems require the domain name in front of the username.
UNTANGLE FIREWALL TO MANY DEVICES PASSWORD
Often the username and password of the machine you are sitting at is different than the target machine. Users often do not know their correct username. If all goes well, you should connect with no issue.

Type or copy: %windir%\system32\mstsc.exe

But if you're not sure, go back and triple check the license rules, or look for the device in the session viewer.

That traffic still has to pass through Untangle, and basic networking stack info is still available, even if the full UVM info isn't, but they shouldn't count against your licensing. Check your bypass rules, and the order in which those rules appear. I've seen this, too, and while I don't know what exactly is going on I suspect it also has to do with #1Ħ. If you're using an off-the-shelf consumer router as a wifi access point, make extra sure it's not actually routing traffic.Ĥ. Check your DNS settings, especially the in-addr.arpa entries, and check if there's a device doing routing in between Untangle and your other devices. Nothing shows up in Untangle unless it tries to push traffic through the Untangle UVM, or you add it.Ģ.

"Visible" implies Untangle goes looking for stuff. _07-28-18.png and Hosts are the same thing, just tracked differently. At the same time other items whitelists do not show in HOSTS as I would expect. Some items in HOSTS are shown (for example our webcams) although they are in a white listed range that should be bypassed. HOSTS: Host reporting shows a huge variance (10-20%) in the daily graphing of hosts going up and down through the day.but again these items are online and working as expected.Ħ. DEVICES: Several working items do not show an INTERNAL or EXTERNAL interface but instead simply show "0" in that field. They are on the network, pingable (we monitor all devices by ping) and working as expected but LAST DEEN TIME will be days or weeks off.Ĥ. DEVICES: The LAST SEEN TIME is not always accurate for many devices. Somehow they are getting the wrong DN from the my (windows) domain although the correct DOMAIN DNS SERVERS are listed correctly in UT.ģ.

DEVICES: I'd say 25% of HOSTNAMES do not match the MAC they belong too. DEVICES are everything that has been on the network and visible to UT.Ģ.

Here are some of my assumptions and ease correct me.ġ. I've NEVER been able to make heads or tails of how Devices and Hosts should work.
